The Winna Inna Me series will focus on Celebrating the Champion within each Child.
Set in Jamaica, “Winna Inna Me, Book 1: Turn that No into YES!” follows eight-year-old Yomi and his physically challenged best friend, Camara as they go through the highs and lows of their sports day at Marcus Garvey Prep School. By the end of the day, they figure out how to “Turn that No into Yes!”
In the book, Sabrena not only shares her stories but also some practical exercises that she has used to help her become comfortable with owning her light. These exercises are easy to do and can be applied to the lifting of various fear-laden road blocks in the life of anyone who desires to declare "I am not afraid....of me anymore".
The St. Jago Years
Sabrena McDonald represented St. Jago High in national Speech and Drama competitions between 1992 and 1998, winning three best actress awards, over 15 individual medals (national gold and silver) and a bronze award for literary arts. As part of the principal’s speaking choir, she performed at graduations, prize giving ceremonies and other special school events. In 1998, she won a scholarship to Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts to study Drama in Education.

The competition is open to 7-12 year old children living in and attending school in Jamaica. The competition will run from May 1-31, 2026.
Entries will be accepted for the Poetry, Essay and Poster competition categories using the theme. “There’s A Winna Inna Me” (the belief that there is a champion within each child, expressed as strengths, talents, unique traits or even hobbies).
The adjudication panel will include some of Jamaica’s leading creative writers and graphic designers.
